Import MSG File
You are typically allowed to import contact lists or groups with a .msg extension when someone dispatches a mail to you with the attached file.

- Go to your Outlook inbox and open the email with the contact group.
- Drag and drop the .msg file on the people icon at the bottom.
- Switch to the My Contacts tab by clicking on the people icon.

Import CSV File
Comma Separated Values(CSV) files can also be imported into Outlook with it’s content, such as contact lists or groups. Unlike the msg file, you can not drag and drop this file into My Contacts.

- Click on File and go to Open & Export from the left pane.
- Choose Import/Export.
- Select Import from another program or file and click Next.
- Choose Comma Separated Values and hit Next.
- Hit the Browse button and choose a CSV file you exported before or saved from an email.
- Choose an option from the next window and click Next. I prefer the Do not import duplicate items.
- Select Contacts as your destination folder to import contact lists and groups.
- Click OK and Finish.
Once the loading is done, it will import all your contact information Within a few seconds. Go to My Contacts to view the imported lists.

Import Contact Group in Outlook 365/Web Client(OWA)
Outlook 365 and Outlook web app, also known as Outlook Web Access(OWA), have a much simpler process to import any contact group list. You can directly import a contact group sent as an attachment previously. But it has to be a CSV file.
Here are the steps to import the contact group list in Outlook 365 & web app (OWA):
- Select the people icon from the left pane and access contacts.
- Click on Manage at the right, just below the top menu bar.
- Choose Import contacts.
- Press the Browse button.
- Choose the CSV file on your computer to load.
- Click on Import.
