Starlink Business is SpaceX’s high-performance-based Starlink satellite internet service. On February 1, 2020, this high-bandwidth internet service was launched as Starlink Premium under this name. Later, Starlink Premium was renamed to a much more fitting Starlink Business on March 19, 2022.
It was expected to begin all the Starlink Business deliveries in Q2, 2022. Starlink offers a new level of service in this higher bandwidth plan by targeting commercial and government customers.
In this Business package, you will get higher speed, higher throughput and superior support. In the Starlink Business plan, you will get 150-500 Mbps download speed per their advertisement. But for a premium package like this, you will have to pay $500 per month.
You will need to pay $2,500 for the antenna and router and $500 as a refundable deposit fee.
With this plan, you will have a higher gain antenna, additional throughput allocation, and better extreme weather performance. According to the statement, with the Starlink Business plan, you can connect to the internet from anywhere.

But there are significant differences between Starlink regular and Business packages. So, let’s look at the key differences between Starlink Business and Personal.

Speed
Download and upload speed is the main difference between a home plan and a Business plan. Starlink base plan offers 100-200 Mbps download speed. But, the Business plan comes with 100-500 Mbps download speed.
The upload speed for the regular Starlink package is 10-20 Mbps, but for Starlink Business, it is 10-40 Mbps. So, the speed difference is huge, especially the download speed between Starlink and Starlink Business. But latency is the same for both packages, which is 20-40 ms.
Cost
As a Business plan, it will generally cost more than the residential Starlink packages. Starlink’s personal or residential plan will cost you $110/month with a one-time hardware cost of $599.
But for Business, you will need to pay $500/month and $2,500 as a one-time hardware cost. So, the cost is so much higher than the regular Starlink plans.
But in terms of speed and support, the price is okay for the Business plan.

Priority
When Starlink Business’s price is five times more expensive than the standard service, you will get a higher priority in it. You will get your ordered Starlink service faster in the Business plan than in regular plans.
You will also get 24/7 bandwidth support in the Business plan. In the standard plan, you will only get services at a specific address. In contrast, the service location is unlimited for Starlink Business.
Performance
If you look at the cost of both, you will understand which one’s performance is the best. The more you spend, the better performance you will get; the same goes for Starlink Business.
When you purchase Starlink’s Business plan, you get a premium satellite antenna designed for improved performance in extreme weather conditions. Dust, heavy rain, snow, etc., won’t impact the performance at a higher rate.
Though the standard Starlink package included antenna has snowmelt functionality, it’s not as tough as the Business plan product.
So, from every aspect, the Business plan is far better than the regular one. The business plan is only for commercial usage, and that’s why it was designed that way.

Is Starlink Business Right for You?
As I have stated before, Starlink’s Business plans are only for government and business offices. Where no broadband service is accessible, you can go for the Starlink Business plan for your office.
This new plan is clearly for the business market. Even the cost is five times higher than the regular package. So, you shouldn’t go for the Starlink Business plan for personal or home usage.
For home usage, you can go for regular Starlink internet plans. Instead of 150-500 Mbps, you will get 100-200 Mbps bandwidth in the Starlink package, which is not that bad.
Moreover, you will need to pay $500/month for the Business plan, whereas you will only pay $110/month for Starlink regular plan. The upload speed is 20 Mbps more in the Premium plan than the standard one.
But latency is the same for both packages. So, for personal usage, you shouldn’t go for Starlink Business.

When will Starlink Internet be Available?
This question varies a lot and is hard to answer. As per Starlink’s statement, the business plan delivery process should start now. But speaking frankly, when any specific customer will get their service could depend greatly on their location.
Before placing an order for Starlink service, please visit their website first. Enter your address and look for the availability date for Starlink in your area. You can also deposit $110-$500 to your Starlink account to secure your spot on the Starlink internet waitlist.
Starlink is currently available in northern latitudes of the USA and other selected areas. But they are expanding daily, which is excellent news for every Starlink fan.
If you go for my opinion, it might not be the best choice to go for Starlink right now. It’s a new tech and still developing. You could face many technical issues with the slow down of the internet and network outages.
Go for a regular broadband connection to enjoy a reliable and stable internet connection.
